Once a week last year during dance class, other Moms and I would purchase a hot beverage and visit until class was over. Some would get hot chocolate and others, like myself, loved getting London Fog drinks. Once we added it up and joked about {though it’s really not funny} how much we spent on beverages in the average dance season.

Sure it was a great excuse to visit and spend time together, yet we realized that if we had a milk frother, we could very easily take our visits beyond the coffee shop and save a lot of money in the process.

A couple of us did just that and purchased a milk frother, and boy was I excited. I was frothing all the things! For those that love London Fog’s, did you know just how simple it is to make it at home?

You actually only need three ingredients to make London Fog: milk, earl grey tea & vanilla syrup flavouring from a grocer. That’s it!

Yet it’s a good time to mention that I boil water for my beverages using the Breville IQ Kettle Purewhich I previously reviewed/adore/use daily still. With a push of the button I can boil water for earl grey tea on the ‘Black Herbal’ setting, to get that perfect steep at 205 degrees.

It really helps to have a quality milk frother too. Speaking of, I’ll continue my story: thefrother that each of us purchased died out within two weeks. RIP frothed drinks, but it was a lesson that sometimes you have to go with a quality product to get the best end {and lasting} results.

I was recently sent the Breville Hot Choc & Froth for review and I got giddy all over again at the possibilities for drinks which I could make at home.

Not only could I make this London Fog recipe, but others like Hot Chocolate, Cappuccino’s and other Lattes. I suggest you try my Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe!

The Breville Hot Choc & Froth has three settings to froth up the perfect Hot Chocolate, Cappuccino {thick velvety frothed milk}, Latte {creamy smooth frothed milk}, or Baby Latte {creamy latte heated at a lower temperature} – without the need to switch frothing disks or blend ingredients by hand.

There is also an integrated measuring spoon that sits perfectly on top of the lid. You can take the spoon off and use it to measure your ingredients {like I did with the Vanilla syrup for this London Fog recipe} and add directly into the milk frother through the wide opening on the lid.

Yet it is called a hot choc & froth for a reason, since it’s main feature is to also perfectly blended hot chocolate, which actually requires active mixing and stirring. So this small appliance has adedicated hot chocolate function to blend and aerate your favourite chocolate shavings or cocoa powder. This summer lover has something new to look forward to this fall and winter!

The Breville Hot Choc & Froth also features a safety auto shut-off and boil dry protection. The thermal cordless jug with cool touch stainless steel body can be removed from the heating base, which is nicebecause then you don’t have to fuss with cords when actually using and pouring from it. It also can with two packages of cleaner, since over time milk can scale frothers.

Best of all, this frother is ‘frothing all the things’ without fail, unlike other brands that couldn’t keep up to Moms seeking cafffeine.
