I’VE GOT THIS, BABY. RELAX. I’M DRIVING.

The story is the second in the Door County Daddies series and the two main characters are Annie Summerhill and Lukas Mattson. These two meet in the first book when Lukas helped rescue Annie when she was kidnapped. He has great respect for her and wants a relationship. The story will basically begin at the wedding of Dax and Dyani—one that Annie has spent much time arranging for her friend.

The story’s plot will have Lukas watching out for Annie, seeing her run herself ragged attending to everything at the wedding and reception. He will get her to dance with him, sit down to eat a bite, and inform her that the rest of the staff will take care of cleaning up. He says he is taking her home—what a shock to her to discover it is his home and not hers. Lukas has great admiration for Annie, but he worries about her rushing into dangerous situations without thinking about the repercussions. That is something he wants to see change—and he is hoping she is willing to pursue a relationship with him. But it isn’t just a normal relationship, Lukas is a dom and needs to have control, and he wants Annie to trust him to relinquish completely to him.

Lukas wants to see a system in place that will protect women and children, and he is putting that into motion. Meeting the right people, getting assistance, and financial backing. He sees what Annie has done to help several women and their children—but so much more needs to be able to happen. The one thing he doesn’t like is that Annie puts her own life at risk and he must show her the consequences of her risky behavior.

Lukas: The help you provided allowed me to do my thing. We make a good team, Annie, doing just the kind of work I’m hoping to do when I get the legal center going.
Annie: Thank you.
Lukas: Can you tell me what you’re thinking about all of this?
Annie: It’s really nothing short of a miracle that you, a non-Native, actually want to do this work. You’re a knight in shining armor, Lukas Mattson, and I am in awe of you.

I never felt the dynamics between these two were over the top. I think they both were in sync and the chemistry was there between them. Annie is someone who takes care of things, but Lukas is determined to slow her down from doing before thinking. There are several spankings, with explanations about safety precautions. The language is Daddy Dom/little girl but without any age play.

The story does have danger and suspense, along with rescue. There is a power exchange relationship that is consensual between the couple. I like that they are open and honest in their discussions of what each needs in a relationship before they get too involved in their relationship. The discipline is fair and just and the clean slate comes with a session of lovemaking. The scenes of intimacy are mildly explicit.

The way the story ended, would easily allow for more stories in the series.

Part of the Door County Daddies series each can be read as a standalone but connect via characters with a daddy and his little girl who didn’t know she needed a daddy we met both our guys in book one. Annie is a sweetheart life hasn’t been kind to her but she doesn’t let that dictate how she is although she runs herself ragged for others in every way now for her friend’s wedding preparations, making sure everything follows the order it needs often times forgetting to take care of herself and it is hard for her to just stop to enjoy what’s around her but she wants to badly but needs someone else to take over the controls. Lukas sexy as all get out rescuer, a daddy at heart, knows who his girl is or who he wants his girl to be now to take the wheel of control and get her to just stop for a moment to enjoy her hard work at the wedding by getting her to dance, to eat something, basically he wants to take care of her completely. Annie wants to be taken care of by the big sexy daddy but with her trust issues can she allow herself to let go the attraction is so intense and the magnetic pull between them is too strong to ignore but will he show her they are on the same page when it comes to helping women/children, can he show her that he wants to open a legal center working side by side with her, can she open up enough to trust him, can she allow him to be her daddy, have they find their forever, and their happiness in each other?

I enjoyed this steamy romance with its likable and believable characters. The pages
turned with ease as I became more involved in the characters, their relationships,
and the many obstacles that caused them to stumble. I loved reading about the
traditions of the Oneida nation. As much as I admired Annie, her habit of running
away from Lukas was dangerous and impulsive.

Annie Summerhill was independent and fearless as she fought for abused women
and children in her town. She was a refuge, but this put her in the firing line of danger. She herself suffered at the hands of a cruel man in the past which saw her willing to take too many risks. Out of patience, Lukas Mattson decided to claim Annie as his own, but could Annie give control to the giant possessive man who believed in spanking when she put herself in danger? Annie struggled with her need to be independent and her desire to submit to Lukas's dominance. I loved how vulnerable Lukas was when he tried to explain to Annie the type of relationship he needed. He stepped up in so many ways, especially by becoming involved with the indigenous people by giving his time freely and helping to establish a new legal center.

This was a sweet romance with danger, spankings, a fiercely independent woman and an overprotective alpha male with daddy tendencies.

When Lukas rescued Annie from kidnappers, it was love at first sight on his part. As he's gotten to know the courageous beauty, those feelings have only strengthened. He's been proceeding patiently with his little love - until he learns about her risky disregard for her own security. With all of his protective instincts on high alert, Lukas decides it's high time to take her home with him and carefully explain the new rules for her health and safety that he means to enforce.
Annie is a fearless defender of the weak and abused, especially the indigenous women and children of her own Oneida nation. She's not used to answering to any man, much less a dominant, 6'5" giant who's suddenly talking about being in charge and consequences for disobedience. But her self-appointed keeper also has a deeply caring side, one that provides both emotional support and hands-on help with the causes she's passionate about. It's a great partnership, sweet and solid, and you absolutely come away convinced these two truly belong together.

I quite enjoyed reading this Lukas and Annie’s story. We first met these two in the first book of this series and I was quite happy to find out there was to be a second book.
Annie is quite independent and takes a lot onto her shoulder that sometimes have negative consequences. She really does need a keeper and Lukas is determined to be that person and he wants to move to the next step of a committed relationship. His strong dominant personality means that any relationship he has with a woman will have a power exchange dynamic. The question becomes, can Annie give up some of her independence, submit to her side of a power exchange and build a relationship with Lukas. Their dynamic grew alongside their mutual attraction within the pages of the story. Very enjoyable to read. The bonus is that you get to catch up with Dyani and Dax (from Book 1).

We met both of these characters briefly in Dax and Dyani's story as Annie was kidnapped and hurt by Dyani's ex and Lukas came to her rescue. It soon became clear to Lukas that he wanted to care for and protect Annie, however, she's always been so self-sufficient and doing so much for everybody else that she is hesitant at first to his dominant ways.

While it's a Daddy/little romance it's very much on a protector and caregiving role rather than age play with plenty of spankings given as a corrective manner to allow for the slate to be wiped clean. Annie is so used to putting everyone else first and letting herself be overworked or put at risk that it becomes clear that she needs Lukas to provide some balance to her life, Their communication isn't always perfect and there are a few moments with Annie flouncing away but I liked that about her as it made her character realistic.

This is Book 2 of Door County Daddies it is a stand-alone however I feel you miss alot by not reading the first one. Because I didn't read the first one and I felt as if I missed out on a bit.
I felt like the relationship between Lukas and Annie had started before I began the book and it left me a touch lost. There was a lot of the couple from the previous book in this book, which made me want to read the first book to catch up. But as far as this book goes I enjoyed it and the story and heat. It was great to see the relationship with Lukas and Annie and their dynamic progress into a fabulous HEA.

I've read a few stories from this author now and have generally enjoyed them all. This is no exception. Although I haven't read book 1 I had no problems following this story, although I did miss out on Lukas and Annie's first introduction and meetings. There is also a few pages given over to an update from the couple from book 1, which I found quite enjoyable in itself. Readers should be aware that this book is firmly Daddy Dom, with little to no age play. This suited me perfectly, but if you're looking for age play you may be disappointed. I adored Lukas. The idea of this Viking falling for this tiny Native woman, his care and loving. Just did it for me. Great read.

Lukas is Annie's rescuer who saves her from kidnappers, and it is love at first sight, but Annie has trust issues being a refugee. As a result, she fights for others but in doing so puts herself at risk. Lukas wants to claim Annie as his own, but will she be able to give up control and trust to Lukas. This story has power exchange elements and may not be good for some, but it is a well written story with likable characters that I enjoyed reading about and connecting with.

Lukas Mattson has been interested in Annie Summerhill since he rescued her months ago. Annie has been busy helping indigenous women from the Oneida nation and organising her friend's wedding, so she hasn't had time for Lukas. Now Lukas has decided it is time that he looks after her. He feels that she needs a Daddy to remind her to look after herself. Can he convince Annie that he is the man for her?

This is the second book in the series but reads fine as a standalone.

Warning: This book contains scenes of spankings and refers to DD/lg relationships it also refers to abuse. This is mainly the story of Lukas and Annie and their navigation into finding their way to a happy ending, but it is also a continuation of Dax and Dyani's story. Lukas and Annie lock horns at every turn and it is not going to be an easy journey for either of them. Read to see if they can or can't figure things out and find a future together that they can both live with.

Annie and Lukas

Annie Summerhill is a selfless person who goes out of her way to help others, even to her own detriment. Lukas Mattson wants Annie and he’s going to step in and take charge like the dominant that he is in order to get the woman he loves.

This is a steamy romance with an interesting storyline and character dynamic. Well written and very engaging. Overall, well done!

I enjoyed this "Door County Daddies" story. It is a fun story about Annie and Lukas. We met these two in the first book when Lukas helps rescue Annie. He worries about her and thinks she takes to many risks. When he sees her running around for their friends wedding he wants to take her home. They end up at his. This is an interesting and intriguing story with elements of power exchange. The story has a touch of over the top along with suspense, danger, passion and more.

Lukas - big and bossy, he's a real take-charge guy. He sees himself as her protector. And I felt like he was overbearing much of the time. Annie - I just love her, giving back so much to her people. She's hard-headed, strong, and not afraid to take a risk to help someone in need. He drove me nuts, but in the end, he was right... He's exactly what she needs. I loved their story. Too detailed descriptions of everything

My rating: 3

Tropes: Spanking - DLG

Heat: 6/10
Emotion 5/10
Story: 6/10
Characters: 6/10
Interest:5/10
POV: Alternating
No Cheating - No OW/OM sex
No Cliffhanger

This wasn't really my cup of tea.
The two many details (on everything) made me skip some pages.
The story was pretty straightforward and i really didn't connect with the MCs.

Annie's past experience has made her embrace independence as a rule, but that same independence has placed her in danger many times. Meeting Lukas after one brush with danger, she firmly keeps him at arm's length. Sexy and exciting, this was a fun read. My favorite scene was after Annie leaves the bar.

This is a well written book with strong likable characters in Annie and Lukas. The author does a great job developing their story and bringing them together. She pulled me into the story with all the danger and suspense. Add in the chemistry and she delivers an entertaining read.

Lukas knew that Annie needed patience after her ordeal ans he knew that Anniw was for him. Stubborn and putting others over her safety, it's time for Lukas to be firm and let Annie know he's there for her. Wonderful read.

I love Luka and Annie together. They are very sweet with great dynamics and dialogue. Luka was really willing to show how much work he'd put into Annie and their relationship. For this and other reason both characters were very lovable and very well written. I enjoyed their power exchange dynamics and chemistry. Their romance was surrounded with danger and suspense. It made for a great read.

I wasn't as hooked to the plot as I had expected with a title and summary like that, but it was still enjoyable. I liked that the MMC actually kept on stepping on the FMC's toes and tried to apologize as best as he could. It was sweet. I didn't like the sudden shift of narration though.

Thanks to Booksprout for a copy.

For the book to be called his reluctant little girl she was not very reluctant. I expected more push back from her. I found her to be a boring heroine and there was not enough little play so I did not enjoy the story.

Definitely kept my attention.
There is Dominant/ Little relationship, some BDMS and to top the storyline some suspense and drama.
Enjoy.

Nice book, good story. I’d like the danger, the relationship between Annie and Lukas and their dynamic. I’d have liked more mystery of the dangerous situation but overall I like the book.
